    Kit Rocks!

We loved the new movie. I took my two oldest girls (ages almost 9 and almost 4).

The movie is perfect for little ones and for pre-teens — plenty of adventure and entertainment, little historical tidbits they’ll recognize, and a heroine who is right on target. My oldest was enthralled from beginning to end. We read the books together about two years ago, so we had lots of “oooh” moments when Kit did something in the movie that we remembered reading about.

My almost-4-year-old was a little more interested in the theater itself and the snacks, but she liked the movie quite a bit, too. There was only one really suspenseful part, and the only violent act in the movie could be straight out of a “Tom and Jerry” cartoon bit. It is based on the story of a girl, but it doesn’t have an overwhelming “girlie” feel to it so I think boys might enjoy it, too.

If you have read the books, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the plot. It really didn’t turn out the way I expected. Abigail Breslin is really fantastic in the part. I wholeheartedly recommend it if you are going to the movies in the near future.

We haven’t seen this yet, but we can’t wait. We’re really excited about it, as we’ve been long time fans of the American Girl dolls and books. We just love Abigail Breslin, also.

I have heard that the movie is not only enjoyable for the kids, but also for the parents, which is a welcome change from many of the movies out there.

Thank you for the review. We had fun reading it!
